About ~~two~~6 years ago, I embarked on a mad adventure. You see, I met this guy on the internet...
Yeah, so, we're ~~living together~~ married now. I grew up in northern Illinois,lived in a rural area north of Philadelphia for many years, and then moved to North Holland, about 30 miles north of Amsterdam, to be with the man. Our village is quaint and picturesque, and surrounded by fields full of sheep, cows or cabbages. Sometimes there are both sheep and cabbages. We have two cats, whose photos you will see all over my journal.
As of Dec. 2006, we've relocated to the south bay area of California, because Himself has a job here. I tell ya, if anybody had tried to tell me 9 years ago that logging on to the internet would completely change my life, I'd have laughed and laughed. (In fact, I think I did laugh. Silly me.)

I enjoy sewing, and creating renaissance faire garb, even though I'm no longer able to go to faires. I also like to mess about with beads, although I've never created anything I really liked. I bought myself a drop spindle, and as soon as i can find a fleece, I'm going to teach myself to spin (because I need another project).[edit: 21/05/07 Okay. I don't think I am actually ever going to teach myself to spin. I would like to, but at this point in my life, I need to be more realistic. Besides, I've started to learn bobbin lace-making now, which leaves me little time to spin.] I used to teach English Smocking and may do so again if I can find anywhere that wants to offer lessons.
I've recently (jan '07) bought an embroidery machine and am teaching myself how to use it.[edit: 21/05/07 No, I'm not teaching myself how to use it. I stare at it with loathing, but avoid touching it.]
